（寫於2004年2月15日）（沒錯，我又沒靈感了，需要拿舊作充數了。）

The Devics是來自洛杉磯的樂團，女主唱Sara Lov的聲音慘白冷冽而絕望，她也是主要的創作者；而團員Dustin O'Halloran幾乎包辦專輯” the Stars at Saint Andrea”中的所有樂器，偶爾也創作與獻唱。

聽他們的音樂給我的感受就是：

i'm pretty aware that i'm sinking and dying.
it's not like i can do anything about it.
i even started to enjoy the slow death and the sorrow attached.

他們最拿手的其實還是gothic風格，於是Safer Shores自然而然地成為這張專輯中，我最欣賞的歌。

一開始的
「this is not the time
this is not the place
we could never leave here if we wanted to」
就已充滿無力與絕望，
原來已經航行到認不出方向、也難以脫困的海域，
這段關係進展不下去，卻也無法一刀兩斷。

「so hold your tongue
until we reach
safer shores
that's for sure.」
我們只能靜靜地、無奈地等待某一天，終於可以解脫，到達岸邊。

「"you're a liar" she said to him
and he stood there blankly
saying nothing
how we came this far
I'll never know
I'll never know」
為什麼會走到這一步呢？
不懂。無法解釋，無法辯白。

然後你說：
「well what did you expect
things don't turn the way
we want them to
so here it is
one last look
now say good bye to all those dreams you had」

悲傷的最後一眼後，
樂器演奏開始波濤洶湧，
好像心裡那些放不下的期待與幻想，
好像想朝天問祂：「為什麼？」
還在不斷想把握最後機會，想知道是否還有轉圜餘地...

但是，最後只有無言。
